Katie Couric's Ratings Are In The Tank - Is Her Romance, Too?
|
The
numbers are stark. Eight months into Katie Couric's
job as the first woman to anchor a network newscast
on her own, her "CBS Evening News" has not
only settled back into its long-held position of last
among the evening news broadcasts, but also regularly
falls short of the newscast that Couric replaced.
So,
what is the deal with her?
Does
she seem to carry the same romance she did on her morning
show?

"Give
it at least one more year. Then we will really see if
she can hold up the "air chair" with the big
boys. If not, pull Dan Rather out of retirement. Give
the job to him. Even if he is a senile old bat by now,
he will be an improvement over the stiff and formal
Couric."
Great
suggestion, Joe. After all, Dan Rather was a senile
old bat when he WAS broadcasting.

"Oh,
yes… I agree… There is nothing romantic about Katie Couric
at all. She is like trying to be too much like a man.
I hate it when women are afraid of their femininity and
go out of their way to lessen it. Women are different
than men and she should be different on the Evening News."

"I
used to think she was hot when she on the "Today Show,"
but not now. Now she is all serious and stuff. Who really
cares about all that serious stuff anyway? I would rather
learn about more important things like who is screwing
who in Hollywood. I mean she was going on about some war
the other day – I was like, I am switching over to the
Pistons game… Nothing romantic at all about her, or the
war." Yes, there is a war going on Teddy – you are
aware of that, aren’t you? "Really – are we winning?"
