Sarah Silverman Slams Britney At MTV Video Music Awards

September 2007 Immediately following Britney Spears' glittery opening performance, comedian Sarah Silverman poked fun at the troubled singer's early rise to fame. "Was that incredible?" she asked the crowd. "She is amazing. I mean, she is 25 years old and she's already accomplished everything she's going to accomplish in her life."  We ask our panel if Silverman's dish was deserved or a case of kicking Britney while she's down.

Roxy Ray "I think this was too much.  I mean, yes, celebrities are fair game, but there still should be some reserve when a person you are insulting is in the same pubic place.  I mean that is why I usually save my opinions of Joe until he leaves our meetings." Remember that Joe reads this stuff from time to time...

Joe "Papa" Razzi "Hey, getting paid millions is a tough business.  You have to weather the storm when things aren't going your way, and remember the old saying 'stick and stones will break my bones'… Anyway, Brit just has to ignore crap like this.  Just like I ignore all the office politics and gossip around here." What gossip?

Anita Star "I think it was classless.  I mean Britney is obviously a girl that had too much success too soon.  Now, she is trying to make her comeback at 25, and can still turn it all around even though she has a lot of work to do. In fact, Silverman even mentioned Brit's kids in some of her jokes… That was disrespectful." We have to agree with you, Anita.
